Stockley Park was the first UK business park of its kind. The development, close to Heathrow Airport, transformed a 400 acre landfill site into a place where the environment is as important as the buildings themselves. The land had little amenity value, poor vegetation and suffered from the uncontrolled release of methane and leachate. The site was transformed by engineering works including the largest earthworks programme of its type in Europe. CFA undertook the task of implementing a stable landscape environment upon totally manufactured soil conditions. Stockley Park now comprises 150 acres of business park and 250 acres of intensively landscaped environment with lakes, all sculptured to blend in with the buildings and provide vistas of extraordinary quality. A necklace of Tilia (Lime) trees unifies the landscape scheme throughout and remains unbroken. Developer: Stanhope Properties Plc |
